A man has been remanded in custody after an indoor cannabis growing operation was found in Marlborough.
Police found 17 cannabis plants and five bags with 28 grams of cannabis heads after they searched a property at Wairau Bar Rd on Tuesday.
Constable Andrew Holdaway, of Blenheim, said the man, a 33-year-old mechanic, was charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of cannabis for supply.
He appeared in Blenheim District Court yesterday and was remanded in custody in Christchurch.
A woman was also arrested at the same incident.
The 32-year-old truck driver was charged with permitting premises to be used for growing cannabis.
She was bailed to appear in court on January 21.
