Man phones his mother
A search for a missing man was called off on Saturday after he made contact with his family in Blenheim.
A police spokeswoman said they no longer had concerns for the welfare of Bradley Michael Dickson, who was reported missing on Friday.
The 20-year-old man was last seen on the outskirts of Timaru on December 7 and had not been in touch with his family in Blenheim. He was on his way to Southland or Otago to look for work.
The police spokeswoman did not know where he had been during the 20 days since he had been seen, but said he phoned his mother as a result of the publicity of his disappearance.
"She is satisfied that he is fine and working somewhere down south," she said.
