The road to Robin Hood Bay, north of Rarangi, has been graded this week to keep it up to standard for holiday traffic.
The Marlborough District Council received a complaint from a motorist who had driven over the road during the weekend and found it badly corrugated, making it difficult to brake, steer and get traction.
Council acting chief executive Mark Wheeler said Marlborough Roads had confirmed the road was scheduled for grading between Christmas and New Year, and the contractor had completed this on Monday.
