Drunk removed from house

A 47-year-old man was arrested in Blenheim after he was found in an empty house looking for somewhere to sleep.

Constable Andrew Holdaway said the sickness beneficiary was arrested at a house in Maxwell Rd at 6.30pm on Friday.

He was given a pre-charge warning and released when sober, Mr Holdaway said.

Police took a 62-year-old woman into custody for detox after she was found in Blenheim unable to look after herself.

The woman was taken into custody at 8.15pm on Saturday. She was released without charge when sober, Mr Holdaway said.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man at a house in Blenheim after he resisted police.

Police were responding to a domestic fight at a house in Weld St on Saturday.

The man was arrested at 10.15pm after he resisted police as they tried to get him out of the house. He was given a pre-charge warning.
