Marlborough 4 Fun now has an app for the Havelock Mussel Festival.
Users just need to scan the QR code to download the free Showgizmo app, enter their email address and the create a password.
From there, festival goers will have all the event information at their finger tips.
And it has proven so successful that the Marlborough Wine and Food Festival have run with the idea, too.
Marlborough 4 Fun CEO Katrina Lange said they decided to use the service as part of the 10-year anniversary of the Havelock Mussel Festival.
"We later realised that the region could benefit even more from the app, so it is now also being used for the Marlborough Wine and Food Festival.
"It is the 10-year anniversary for the mussel festival and we thought this would be something great to celebrate that.
"It also adds to Love New Zealand sponsoring the event this year with more focus on recycling at the event.
"We will be printing a lot less hard copy information thanks to the app," she said.
The apps for both festivals include maps, event updates, competitions and stallholder information.
Alerts will also be sent out during the day of the festivals to remind those attending of any special events - so they don't miss out on anything.
