A new bus shelter at the Picton i-Site is almost complete.
Destination Marlborough general manager Tracey Johnston said they were delighted with council's investment in Picton.
"It is a vast improvement to what was there before and it adds to the visibility of the i-Site as well," she said.
"The last components that need to be completed are the screens that will update the transport information for tourists.
"They will be able to see what time buses will arrive and if there are any delays or changes," Ms Johnston said.
The ideal scenario was to eventually have cruise passengers picked up and dropped off at the bus shelter, she said.
British tourist Debbie Robinson said the bus stop was the most beautiful one she'd ever seen.
"Usually it is just a wooden little shed that has been modified, but this one is impressive," Ms Robinson said.
"I have some time to wait before my bus arrives, but I don't mind doing it here at all."
Christchurch man Terry Wilson was passing through with his family and said the bus stop was very nice. "It is very modern and light and provides much needed space for tourists out of the elements.
" I would have liked to see it at night - I think it would look beautiful lit up."
