Rain did not dampen the spirits of Marlborough Girls' College pupils at their Extra Curricular Expo.

Almost 30 stalls were set up in the school's quad on Friday to display the different sports, clubs and activities pupils could join.

Marlborough Girls' College principal Karen Stewart said that the purpose of the day was to encourage pupils to sign up for at least one activity. It was a great opportunity for all pupils, especially new ones, to see all their options and to get involved.

"We have seen the difference it has made academically for students that do get involved."

Marlborough Girls' College year 13 pupil Amy Temperor said that it was great to see everyone excited. "It gives all teams and clubs the opportunity to show what they do and hopefully encourage some new members to join. Our peer support group also had a stall today to remind pupils they are there to support them."

Parents were also invited to the event. "It is a great opportunity for parents to learn about everything going on at the school and all the options available to the students," Amy said.
