Missing Marlborough man Kerry Blair's boat, Erie, will be examined in an effort to uncover clues as to what may have happened to the 55-year-old.
The nine metre launch was to be taken out of the water at Port Taranaki yesterday, to allow the examination to take place.
It had been towed more than 200 kilometres by navy vessel HMNZS Wellington to New Plymouth late Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Blair had not been heard from since he left Erie Bay in Tory Channel, in the Marlborough Sounds, in the boat about 4pm on March 8.
