Police found nothing obvious to suggest what had happened on board the Erie, the boat missing man William Kerry Blair was last seen on.
Tasman district communications manager Barbara Dunn said on Friday that police had completed their inspection of the boat.
''Police were checking all information and talking to all individuals that had used the boat,'' she said.
Nothing had been discovered to suggest what had happened on board.
Police will continue to review all information on Monday in an effort to uncover what may have happened to the 55-year-old, she said.
The launch had been taken out of the water at Port Taranaki in New Plymouth last week after it was towed more than 200 kilometres by navy ship HMNZS Wellington.
Mr Blair had not been heard from since he left Erie Bay in Tory Channel, in the Marlborough Sounds, about 4pm on March 8.
The boat was last seen near Cape Jackson about 5.30pm the same day.
