Hotel d'Urville is set to change hands next week, as an international hotel chain takes over its management.
Select Hotels & Resorts International will be taking over the management of the hotel and restaurant from April 1, and will work in partnership with its current owners, Chris Birks and Tony Lawrence.
Select Hotels managing director Tony Balch said various changes could be expected, including the name, to Select Hotel d'Urville.
"[The] restaurant will be welcoming a new executive chef and open as a seafood restaurant, offering guests fresh fish dishes containing locally sourced seafood and the freshest seasonal produce from the area," he said.
The hotel would also undergo modifications, with a new bar and lounge area, as well as a new wine menu.
Conference facilities for businesses and private dining would be available, Mr Balch said.
Select is a network of independent hotels, resorts and country retreats throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.
"The properties we select for inclusion into our network must meet strict requirements and focus on exceptional service for their guests to experience," Mr Balch said.
"Hotel d'Urville offers unique accommodation and an outstanding dining experience.
"We are extremely pleased to now call it Select Hotel D'Urville," he said.
