A Redwoodtown woman had her cellphone stolen after inviting a door-knocker into her home on Wednesday afternoon, police say.

The woman who was door-knocking claimed to be raising money for her son's bike-a-thon and took the phone while the resident was looking for some money, said Constable Andrew Holdaway.

Blenheim Police are seeking information about the woman after receiving reports she has been knocking on doors collecting over the past week.

She has possibly been travelling on a mobility scooter at times.
