A Blenheim man was fined $400 in the Blenheim District Court yesterday after he inappropriately touched three women while they were shopping.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Mark Harris said Sean Patrick O'Farrell, 46, was in the Pams second-hand shop in Blenheim on March 24, about 2.35pm.
He had consumed two bottles of wine throughout the day and was intoxicated, Harris said. O'Farrell approached two women separately and ran his hand down their backs, before approaching a third woman, who felt him touch her bottom.
Judge Tom Broadmore said O'Farrell was lucky not to have been charged with indecent assault.
