SAVE LIVES: Fire safety officer George Stephens says daylight savings is also a good time to check smoke alarms.

Don't forget to turn your clocks back this weekend.

The time change actually happens at 3am on Sunday morning, so it becomes 2am.

But probably best to change your alarm clock on Saturday night before going to sleep. Yes, we get an extra hour in bed.

This is also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke alarms.
