A meeting next week will determine the next step in deciding the future of Blenheim's secondary schools, the Education Ministry says.

Education Ministry head of sector enablement and support Katrina Casey said yesterday the ministry's Nelson office had received facilitator Janet Kelly's report.

"Next week our staff in Nelson will meet with Marlborough Boys' and Marlborough Girls' representatives and together determine how to proceed."

A spokeswoman said it was likely a statement would be made after that meeting.

Ms Kelly wrote the report based on feedback from the public consultation carried out in December and January on what the community wanted for Marlborough Boys' and Marlborough Girls' Colleges.
