Generosity welcomed

The Christmas shoe box appeal is over for another year and organiser Lisa Bond is praising yet another amazing effort from the Kaikoura community.

A total of 260 boxes were donated this year, which although, down on last year is still an impressive feat according to Lisa.

"I am continuously blown away by the generosity of this community. It makes me proud to be from Kaikoura and I look forward to seeing an even more successful campaign next year," she said.

"A big thank you to the ladies and men's Lions Clubs, Hapuku School, local churches and community groups, St John Cadets, families and individuals who gave generously this year to make a child's day this Christmas.

"Zippy Freight have been great with their ongoing contribution to shipping the boxes to the distribution centre."

The boxes were picked up last week to be shipped off to Fiji for Christmas.
