Kaikoura got a taste of a new chocolate sensation last week when Josh Winger rode into town on his yellow bike to try out his yellow chocolate on the general public.

Josh was in town as part of a nationwide tour to gauge public opinion on the four flavours he has been working on. He said the tour, in particular the South Island leg, was the most enjoyable aspect of the challenge so far.

Josh has been working on creating the taste of yellow since September when he rose to the challenge laid down by Yellow Pages to create a chocolate bar which tastes like the colour yellow, using only businesses and information he can find in the Yellow Pages.

He will, of course, take into account opinion he collects on the street, but has his work cut out if Kaikoura is anything to go by.

Zivanna Harris, HayleeTettuia-Claxton and Casey Davis were the first to try out the four flavours and each chose a different one so it did not narrow it down for Josh at all.

Ultimately, he says, the decision will be up to him, but despite getting quite a taste for chocolate, he says he is still open-minded and has yet to pick a favourite.

The new yellow-flavoured chocolate is set to hit the shelves in January so it won't be long before the whole of New Zealand is wiser to the idea of what yellow actually tastes like.
