Weigh-in for the spud in a bag competition will be on Saturday at the schoolyard market, at 10am.

Bring along your spud, still in its bag, for the official count up and weigh-in, which will be presided over by the ladies of the Lions Club of Seaward Kaikoura.

Prizes will be awarded for the following categories: adults and children: grand champion $50, runner up $25, most spuds $25, total weight $25, heaviest spud $25.

All proceeds from the competition will go towards supporting Kaikoura youth activities.
