For Kaikoura couple Gary and Sarah Miller, their anniversary will always be an easy one to remember.
The lovebirds got married last week on 12.12.12 in Kaikoura in what bride Sarah described as the most amazing day of her life. They chose the date because of the significance of the three numbers, but also because it was Sarah's aunt's 25th wedding anniversary. She had got married at 25, the age Sarah is now, so the date held an even greater significance for Sarah.
The pair had originally planned to marry last year, on 11.11.11, however at the time they were living in Hanmer Springs.
"We decided we were going to move back to Kaikoura, so we could have our dream wedding on the beach as we always wanted," Sarah says. "Kaikoura is such an amazing place and it was really gorgeous."
The ceremony itself, presided over by celebrant Kevin Heays, was held at South Bay Domain, overlooking Shark's Tooth. There was even a spot of "good luck rain" halfway through the photo shoot, with the reception held under clear skies again at the couple's South Bay home.
