Seasons greetings from the Medical Centre staff and "wow" aren't we seeing some nice summer weather at the moment! Busy times are soon to be upon us as the town fills up with visitors and family.

At the moment the Kaikoura Service Level Alliance is running a survey on transport possibilities between here and Christchurch return. This is a community group exploring how local health care is delivered to its residents. They have identified accessible transport as a barrier to specialist appointments, particularly for our older population.

The service could be a shuttle, community van or a volunteer driving a personal car to an appointment. Anything is possible so fill out the survey and let us know how you feel about it. Surveys can be found at the medical centre, the district council, library and pharmacy.

And finally, please note the hours for the medical centre over the holidays in this issue of The Star.
