It's time to take a walk up Mt Freeth.

The walk was inspired by Annella McNicholl, who died six years ago and it has been held every year since.

There is a well-formed track (courtesy of Clive and Carolyn Pinkham, of Picton Earth Works) to the summit, about 625 meters above sea level.

The walk should take about three hours.

And for those unable to walk, and for an additional donation of $10, a four-wheel drive ride has been organised by the Blenheim Four Wheel Drive Club.

The Child Cancer fundraising walk is organised by Picton Rotary Club and the club will have a barbecue and icecream at the summit along with entertainment from the Folk Us (Picton Gaelic Band) and Gary Nevin, juggler extraordinaire.

Come and join the walk to make this event a great fundraiser for Child Cancer.

THE WALK
