Kilos shed: Preparation for bodybuilding is mostly about paring fat back to muscle, says Reuben Darrell, of Airforce Base Woodbourne, who has shed 16kg since starting training in June. Darrell won the masters 40+ class.
Show it off: Jo Hawker, of Blenheim, took up friends' challenge to show her form in the shape section of this weekend's's Top of the South Bodybuilding championships. Hawker is the face of the Maata Waka Ki Te Tau Ihu Trust's Kaitakawaenga programme which aims to encourage Maori people to take up physical activity and healthy eating. She walked away as Top of the South shape champion.
