For the 50th time, the Croads Honda Peter Brown Memorial Motocross event roared into action at the Throne track in the Waihopai Valley near Blenheim on Saturday and Sunday.
Former racer Des Boyce from Picton, who won the first Peter Brown memorial title in 1964, operated the start gates for the feature race which was won by 19 year-old Campbell King, from Dunedin, thought by organisers to be the youngest winner ever.
Eighty riders, some from as far south as Tapanui and Dunedin, enjoyed good track conditions and favourable weather.
