The leading teams all had big wins in the latest round of senior interclub table tennis matches played on Thursday.

Warriors beat Wairau Valley Red 8-4 as Nigel Schultz and Ken Thompsett swept through their singles matches. Janice Thompsett, filling in for Matt Willis, combined with Ken for a 7-11, 11-6, 11-4, 2-11, 11-5 win over Rob Jones and Harry Fowler.

On the next table, Wairau Valley Blue beat Koromiko 10-2. Matt Pigou and Peter Wells led the way while Josh Sim had an 11-8, 8-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-4 win over fellow junior, Louis Willis. Peter Welsh beat Sim 9-11, 13-11, 12-14, 11-7, 13-11 to get Koromiko on the board with Darryl Jones also getting them a point .

Kristin Ruwhiu didn't drop a set in her matches as Three Lions beat Flaxbourne 11-1. Jeremy Phipps did well to beat the in-form Jason Kennedy 15-13, 10-12, 11-6, 11-7 to gain Flaxbourne's point and also gained a set from top-spinning junior, Alex Kennedy.

Arawa are in second-equal place after a 12-0 win over Squashables. Malcolm Rush played his first competitive game for Squashables.

Bamboo Garden joined Arawa on 74 points after a 12-0 win over Sue's Team.

Liquorland beat a two-player MOM team 12-0. Martin Stephens came close to winning a match for MOM.

This week, Full of Spirit play Three Lions while Warriors take on Wairau Valley Blue in top of the table clashes.

After the second night of the Inter Winery/Business House competition on Thursday only two teams remain unbeaten.

The Entrepreneurs, Saan Rawiri and Tuku Reihana, again grabbed maximum points but had to fight hard against The St Clair Stars players Brendon Sutherland and Donna Clark. Clark played particularly well taking both opponents to four sets. Tamati-Ra Rewiti also remains unbeaten as he and Honza Vavricka shot Team Korbel into second place with a 4/1 victory.

Results: Marlborough Travel beat St Clair Family Estate 5/0 , Team Korbel beat ASAP MOP 4/1, The Entrepreneurs beat Constellation Stars 5/0.
