An impressive Wairau Blue batting display handed Renwick their first loss of the fourth grade junior cricket season at Oliver Park on Saturday.

Wairau scored 181 batting first, with Fraser MacIntosh 53 retired and Josh Clarkson 51 retired. Renwick were bowled out for 83, Clarkson taking 4-8 to complete a fine double.

Wairau White completed a good day for the club with a first-innings win over Celtic Green.

Joel Burns scored 29 and Riley Jennings 28 as Wairau White posted 149. Celtic replied with 83, Tyler Leigh top scoring with 31. Harrison Boyce and George Bond took three wickets for Wairau.

Leo Adendorff scored 52 as Wairau Valley chased Celtic Gold's 91 to score a first-innings win. Michael Hix top scored for Celtic with 31.

In fifth grade, Wairau Rhinos beat Renwick by 90 runs after scoring 133 for 6 batting first, led by 35 not out from Connor Henderson.

Celtic Warriors won their club derby with Celtic Minicaps. Warriors scored 184 for 3, with Loren Neal 54 not out and Jack Boon 34 not out, before dismissing Minicaps for 23, Boon taking 3-3.

Renwick Green chased down Wairau Originals' 56, losing only four wickets. Michael Davis was top scorer with 17.

Wairau Valley won a thriller against Celtic, chasing 76 with seven wickets down, Josh Gwynne was the standout with 31.

Year 7 and 8: Queen Charlotte College 84 beat Renwick Fine Legs 72 by 12 runs; Fairhall 4 lost to Bohally Battlers 108 by 104 runs; Marlborough Girls' College 5 lost to Renwick SMOs 111 by 106 runs.
