Marlborough darts players stumble

Robert Bradley and Rob Messman were the star Marlborough players at last week's national Chartered Clubs darts tournament at Clubs Marlborough in Blenheim.
They reached the last eight of the men's pairs, while Dianne Guard got down to the last 16 in the main round of women's singles.
Guard and Jennie Wheeler qualified for the knockout rounds in the women's pairs, but exited in round one.
Robert Bradley advanced to the playoff stages of the men's singles, but was knocked out early.
In the plate round, Andy Parsons was runner-up to Gerry Hopkins from the New Brighton club in the men's singles.
Kelly and Shaun Neal reached the last 16 of the pairs. Helen Pope and Debbie Parsons reached the last eight of the plate round, while Julie Neal and Jenesse Irwin advanced to the last 16. Neal made it to the last eight of the women's singles plate.
The men's pairs title was won by Nathan Haines and Dave Jenkins, of Timaru South Cosmopolitan club.
Jane Harrington and Jill Wilson, of the Richmond Club in Christchurch, took out the women's pairs crown, Harrington capping off a great tournament by also winning the singles. Bernie Smith from the New Brighton Club won the men's singles, Preston Ridd from Richmond the runner-up.
