Renwick Aces win top grade

Renwick Aces completed a remarkable run in the Marlborough primary schools tennis competition by wrapping up division one honours last Saturday at the Forrest Winery Marlborough Tennis Centre.
The team of Nic Murray, Logan Murphy, Heath Murphy, Phoebe Murray and Jean-Luc Hauswirth were comfortable winners of the competition's top grade from runners-up Bohally Smashers.
It marked the third season in a row the team had taken a primary school title.
Last season Renwick Aces won division two, with Nic and Phoebe Murray and Hauswirth also featuring in that side.
The previous season, the trio were also part of the Renwick Bronze team that claimed division three (i) honours.
Renwick went through the season, that started in October, unbeaten and dropped only one game after play resumed following the Christmas break.
Fairhall Blue took out the division two title with Renwick Slammers a close second.
Division three (i) honours went to Witherlea Top Spin while Renwick were winners in division three (ii).
Division Kiwi went down to Saturday's final round with Springlands Terries edging Richmond View Slammers by a single point.
