Former Marlborough and Olympic Games road cyclist Robin Reid showed his class in another arena yesterday by winning the annual Michael Huntley Memorial triathlon.
The event was contested over a 1500m swim at Anakiwa in the Marlborough Sounds followed by a 40km cycle around four laps towards Havelock and a 10km run around the Anakiwa, Linkwater area.
Mark Grammer, a New Zealand age-group triathlon rep, led coming out of the swim but Reid, now living in Nelson, took over on the cycle and continued his dominance on the 10km run to record a good win.
Further details and results will be published as soon as they are available.
