Quins, Pelorus sound warnings

Harlequins Fairweathers Authentics and Pelorus Havelock Hotel have the early jump on their rivals in the Marlborough grade one netball competition after both picked up their second consecutive win in week two of round one at Horton Park on Saturday.

All three grade one matches were high scoring affairs, with defending champion Quins accounting for Smog Mitchell Sports 38-25 and Pelorus downing the other winner from week one, Quins McDonalds, 38-24. Pelorus Edridge Contracting bagged their first victory of the season as they comfortably overcame Central Trillos 34-19.

Grade two also produced three games where both sides scored freely, Quins Woodbourne Tavern scoring the most commanding result when they beat clubmates Quins GJ Gardner 35-15. The returning Tokomaru A side collected their second win on the trot with a 33-20 win over Pelorus Inlet Bakery, while Smog APL downed Central B 32-24.

In grade three, QCC Senior A were too good for Smog Gascoigne Wicks in a 38-11 win, while Quins BPC edged out Pelorus BNC Viticulture 25-23 and Smog Subway beat Quins BB Signs 28-23.
