Harlequins retained their unbeaten record in the Wadsco Marlborough senior division two rugby competition on Saturday following a hard fought 24-12 win over Woodbourne Tavern Renwick at Renwick.

Jellie Fuapau and Richard Taylor were try-scorers for Quins, Taylor kicking the extras. For Renwick, Evan Wadsworth and Jade Brydon scored tries, Adam Broadbridge added a conversion.

Biddy Kates Central beat Moutere 20-16 at Awarua Park. Ta Whaanga and Rata Rawhiti scored tries for the Blues, Dalton McKenney kicked two conversions and two penalties. Nick Tairakena and Marlon Mullen scored for the Magpies, Jordan Newman added two penalties.

The other scheduled match between Kaikoura and Awatere at Seddon was postponed due to the opening day of the duck shooting season. That game will now be played at Seddon on Wednesday, May 16, at 7pm.
