Queen Charlotte College once again dominated the boys' grade at the Tasman secondary schools badminton championships at the Motueka Recreation Centre on Tuesday.
The Queen Charlotte College team of Joseph Timms, Devon Payne, Ben Reihana, Lachlan Woolf and Blair Timms won all their singles matches against Nayland College in the final. The Timms brothers won the top doubles match against Nayland's Zaimon Samson and Caleb Burton.
Nayland beat Waimea College (5-1) in the semifinals to gain their place in the finals, finishing second overall with Waimea College third.
Waimea College continued their winning streak in the girls' grade. Their team of Michelle Westley, Melanie Westley, Florence Delaney, Laura Bingham and Caitlyn Clemenston confirmed their position in the finals with wins over Tapawera Area School (6-0) and Nelson College for Girls B team (6-0).
Queen Charlotte College's Stephanie Lewis, Janelle Wills, Zoya Timms and Cheyenne Mosdell also dominated their pool, winning ties against Motueka High School (6-0) and Nelson College for Girls A (5-1).
In the finals Waimea College prevailed 4-2 over Queen Charlotte College. Nelson College for Girls A beat Tapawera Area School 6-0 to claim third overall.
There were 15 teams entered from seven schools across the region.
