Cuddon Cycling Marlborough's winter road season commences tomorrow afternoon with the Vincent Shield and Opening Day Cup from Forrest Estate Winery at Renwick.

The open grade 32km group handicap event for the Vincent Shield covers four laps of the Condors Bend Rd, Bedford Rd, SH63, Anglesea St, Boyces Rd, SH6 circuit.

A large field is expected with fastest time being fought out by one of the strongest scratch groups for years including Gerard van Antwerpen, Tony Catterick, Brodie Catterick, Peter Crampton, Andrew Jamieson, Callum Saunders, Jeremy McKenzie, George Baxter and Josh Scott.

The junior under-17 grade will compete in a 16km handicap event over two laps of the circuit for the Opening Day Cup. With the new influx of riders in the junior events over the last couple of months some close racing is expected. Fastest time is expected to come from scratch markers Georgia Catterick and Thomas Westend. All riders to assemble at Forrest Estate Winery at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
