Marlborough's under-11, under-12 and under-14 representative rugby teams won their respective Seddon Shield trophies at a wet and windy Motueka on Saturday.

The under-11 side's first game was against Nelson Town and a superb team effort resulted in an comprehensive 39-12 win.

Their second game of the day, against Nelson Country, was a lot closer but outstanding defence saw Marlborough come back in the final period of the game to win 10-7 and clinch the shield.

Thomas Boyce led well from the front with Kuki Wickliffe playing extremely well in the forwards in both games. Standouts in the backs for both games were Oliver Lawson and Torban Otway.
