Mixed Seal prevailed in the most entertaining match of Wednesday night's touch competition.

They met MGC Mrs Austin in the secondary school grade and came out on top 7-5.

Mixed Seal worked well as a team, using all their team members, and also ran well into holes. Tom Looms and Jayden Paul were the key players.

Mrs Austin also contributed to a fine match and are improving every week. Taylor MacDonald was the player of the match, getting her first hat-trick in touch and showing excellent hands. Cleneonna Hocquard-Dalliessi also scored a try for her team.

On Thursday night the Marlborough under-15 boys side was the team to watch. They have improved immensely in the past month, training hard for December's IPS tournament in Christchurch, and met the impressive Moutere Mob, also a good team to watch with plenty of skill and good defence.

The under-15s showed superior defence on the 5 metre mark, shutting down Moutere Mob and forcing them to throw long balls. Josh Godsiff was outstanding at the heart of the rep side's defence while Anarau Anderson, Nixon Kim and Logan Robinson were also prominent.

Moutere Mob had good set plays with Rawiri Katane and Dalton McKinney doing a lot of work in the middle.

The final score didn't reflect the game, both teams worked hard, but it was Moutere who came out on top 6-2.

The Marlborough under-15 girls team also had a very good game against Wing It, winning 6-1. Jordan Peipi and Tahlia Tepuia worked well together in the middles and took charge on the field. Monica Gulliver ran holes well and notched the try of the night, a runaway from her side of halfway.

Wing It played well for such an inexperienced side, although Lucy Smith and Anna Archie were there to help them out. Smith took charge when she was on the field and Archie made a lot of yards and scored her team's try.
