Though Sunday's Marlborough Women's Triathlon has been postponed, the Clubs of Marlborough Avanti-Plus women's duathlon is very much up and running next Friday (November 23).
So far, event organiser Andrea Waldrom from the Clubs of Marlborough fitness centre has 45 confirmed entries and she's looking for quite a few more over the next week.
The event comprises an 800-metre run from the start/finish line on the riverbank at the back of the Clubs of Marlborough complex followed by a 5.5km cycle to the Wither Hills farm park. From there it's a 5km run/walk along the base of the Wither Hills then a 5.5km return journey and a 200m dash to the finish line.
Following the event is a prizegiving with cakes and bubbles. Entries can be picked up from the Clubs of Marlborough reception or at Avanti-Plus Cycles in Queen St.
The course is the same as for the annual men's La-Z-Boy duathlon, which is set for January 25.
