A man-of-the-match performance from Darryl Roughan led Renwick to a three-wicket win over Celtic in Marlborough third-grade competition action at Oliver Park on Saturday afternoon.
Bowling first on the No 1 ground, Renwick restricted Celtic to 185-8 from 42 overs.
Sunny Shahzad top-scored with 46 and Harry Middleton made 33, while Del Raj chipped in with 29 and James Croker hit an unbeaten 24 at the end of the innings.
Adam Baker (2-13) was the best of the Renwick attack, with Roughan snaring 2-27.
Although they lost seven wickets, Renwick reached their target in the 31st over. Roughan's knock of 58 was the crucial element to the successful chase, while Duncan Anderson contributed a valuable 36. Shane Dobson took 2-39 to be the pick of the Celtic bowlers.
Meanwhile, on the No 2 ground at Oliver Park, Picton/Queen Charlotte College edged Wairau Valley by two wickets in another close third-grade match.
Wairau Valley made 148 before they were all out in the 40th over on a flat, hard surface.
Liam Perrot hit an innings-best 29, with Shaun Neal and Logan Murphy both making 24. Bowling spin, Corey Rawlings bagged 3-14 from six overs for Picton/QCC, while medium-pace bowler Dylan Burns claimed 3-45 from eight.
Picton/QCC reached their target in just the 30th over but had only two wickets to spare. The father-son duo of Corey (27) and Jesse Rawlings (20) were the top-scoring batsmen. However, 44 wides from the Valley bowlers played a significant role in the final result.
Ben Lowes and Sam Day took two wickets each for Valley.
