Veteran Marlborough harrier Margaret Hazelwood clocked up another fine performance last weekend at the Hanmer Alpine marathon event.
The 62 year-old clocked a respectable 3hr 51min for the 42.2km course which ran from the start at Lake Tennyson down the Rainbow Rd to Hanmer Springs which placed her second woman overall. It's her second sub four-hour marathon in recent weeks, having ran 3.53 in the New World Marlborough Marathon earlier this month, quick enough to win her age- group.
Hazelwood was "really rapt" with her efforts and has an even tougher challenged planned on January 26 when she tackles a 50km mountain run at St James's Station.
