The Central Districts side, featuring three Marlborough players, suffered a first-innings loss to Wellington when their two-day match wrapped up at the under-17 quad tournament in Christchurch yesterday.
After a convincing first-innings win against Otago in their first match of the tournament at Burnside Park, CD batted first against Wellington on Tuesday and were all out for 216, Marlborough's Josh Clarkson making 73.
Wellington made their way to 71 for 3 by the end of the day's play, and yesterday went on to pass CD's total for the loss of five wickets. They were eventually all out for 316, Marlborough left-arm seamer Nick Weaver returning figures of 2-43 from 15.3 overs.
CD batted out the remainder of the day and reached 43 for 3 in their second innings, with Clarkson not out on one.
The final two-day match of the tournament for CD started today, against Canterbury.
