The Central Districts under-17 side featuring Marlborough players Josh Clarkson, Matthew Stretch and Nick Weaver suffered a first-innings loss to hosts Canterbury in their third and final match of the under 17 quad tournament in Christchurch on Friday.
CD ended the six-day tournament with one first innings victory over Otago and two first innings losses against Wellington and Canterbury.
On Thursday, CD had their backs to the wall by the end of the first day's play, sitting at 75-7 in reply to Canterbury's first innings total of 288.
The visitors were eventually all out for 128 on Friday, Clarkson making 12 and Stretch out for a duck. Canterbury ended the match five down for just over 100 in their second innings, Clarkson taking two wickets.
Clarkson was the pick of the Marlborough playersand hitting 73 against Wellington.
