Outstanding performances from Lachi Woolf and Corey Rawlings led Picton/Queen Charlotte College to a convincing 10-wicket win over Renwick in round three of the third grade Twenty20 competition at Endeavour Park in Picton on Friday night.

Renwick won the toss and batted first, but, thanks to a superb spell of offspin bowling from Woolf, they were all out for 101.

Woolf recorded the remarkable figures of 5-3 off two overs, while Blair Timms took 2-17 off three. Darryl Roughan was easily the pick of the Renwick batsmen, hitting 37, with Ryan Holdaway contributing 17.

It took the home team just 11.2 overs to chase down their target, Rawlings blasting 13 fours and two sixes before retiring for 84. Although he shared in a 100-run opening stand with Rawlings, Carl Moorehead only needed to contribute six not out.

Meanwhile, at College Park in Blenheim, Wairau Valley collected a 40-run victory over Wairau.

An unbeaten 59 from Ben Wade saw Valley post 137-4 after electing to bat first on the artificial surface. Logan Murphy provided good support to Wade, hitting 34. Ben Allan (1-14 off three) and Vaughan Collins (1-23 off four) were the best of the Wairau bowling attack.

In reply, Wairau could only reach 97-6 in their 20 overs. Matt Weaver top-scored with 32, while Ross Banbury made 17.
