An unbeaten century from Renwick batsman Corey Bovey helped his side overcome Celtic by seven wickets in a high-scoring third-grade Twenty20 clash at Renwick Domain on Friday night.
Bovey belted 105 not out, enabling the home team to chase down its 179-run target in just 15 overs. George Kenny and Piers Landon-Lane provided support, both making 31.
Earlier, 90 from Sunny Shahzad and an unbeaten 59 from Shane Dobson saw Celtic post a competitive 178 for two from their 20 overs.
At Endeavour Park in Picton, the father-son duo of Corey and Isaac Rawlings were the key figures as the home side downed Wairau Valley by 118 runs.
Picton/QCC made 177 for five batting first, Corey Rawlings top-scoring with 46 not out, including seven fours and one six. Blair Timms made 42, while Ahren Watene-Jones contributed 25.
Shaun Rush was the pick of the Valley attack, taking two for 40.
Valley never threatened, all out for 59 in the 17th over. Isaac Rawlings was the chief destroyer for Picton/QCC, bowling four of the Valley batsmen and returning five for 12 from four overs, while Dylan Burns had two for five.
Andrew Forgesson top-scored for Valley with 16.
On Saturday, Celtic and Renwick were winners over Wairau and Wairau Valley, respectively, in 45-over matches.
Celtic bowlers James Croker (3-13) and Nathan Shott (2-46) did the bulk of the damage as Wairau posted 141 for eight at College Park. It took just 16 overs for Celtic to secure a three-wicket win, Dilraj Singh belting 51 and Croker making 20 not out.
Top knocks from Ryan Holdaway (88) and Mark Zillwood (64) allowed Renwick to make 237 for five in reply to Valley's 236 all out at Renwick Domain. Ben Lowes hit 78 for Valley, Duncan Cameron (3-14) and Holdaway (2-35) the pick of the home team's bowlers.
