Training hits week four
Welcome to week four of the Marlborough Women's Triathlon training; you will now be starting to build a solid base of fitness for this event.
Hopefully you all managed to give the brick sessions a go during the week.
We will continue with these sessions during the next few weeks, so if you have not had a chance yet this week is key to start with them.
This week we look to up the distances a little to push ourselves further.
If you are finding it hard to train alone there are many options out there for group training sessions. A couple I would suggest are the Women's Road bike group on a Monday night at 6pm leaving from Avantiplus in Queen St, the Tuesday 5 kilometre summer runners down the Taylor River and the Thursday-night Wither Hill session meetings at 6pm at the Rifle Range car park.
The Thursday-night training is open to all so bring along friends, husbands, partners and children - all are welcome.
As you start to up your training and with the hot summer days it is important you remember to keep your fluid intake up.
Dehydration can lead to muscle fatigue, cramping, dizziness and can make it harder for the body to regulate its temperature. Everyone is different so it is important you monitor your intake and take a bottle of water with you.
