The Central Softball Club has found an enjoyable way to raise funds.
They are having a function at Fairweathers bar and restaurant on March 10 to watch the World Series softball final in Auckland.
The day starts at 10am when the bronze medal play-off begins, and it is hoped that the Black Sox New Zealand team, featuring former Marlborough pitcher Nik Hayes, will make the grand final.
Function tickets cost $12 and each woman attending gets a glass of Oyster Bay bubbles. Ticket-holders will also go into a raffle.
There will also be an auction, with items to be sold including softballs signed by teams competing at the world championships, and signed Black Sox shirts.
The club's Barry Anderson said everyone is welcome and tickets can be picked up from A& P Park on a Saturday afternoon at club softball or from him by phoning 021 2407 640.
