The third annual clash between the Marlborough and North Canterbury junior tennis teams takes place in North Canterbury on Sunday.
Home advantage has proved the deciding factor on both previous occasions the tie has been played. North Canterbury won at home in 2011, but last year Marlborough proved too strong and completed a 39-17 victory. Once again, though, the North Canterbury juniors are expected to be tough to beat at home.
Just 11 of the 22 Marlborough players who travelled south two years ago are in action again this year, with plenty of fresh faces keen to do their province proud in singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches.
North Canterbury does not have a large tennis complex like Blenheim, so the matches are across four venues - Woodend hosting the 10s, Fernside the 12s, Rangiora the 14s and Kaiapoi the 16s.
