Pupils primed for action
Two teams from Marlborough Boys' College and one team from Marlborough Girls' College left for Hamilton today to compete in the annual New Zealand secondary schools squash national tournament.
They will face five rounds of games during three days of competition, coming up against teams from more than 30 schools attending from as far away as Whangarei and Dunedin.
Two of our teams enter the tournament ranking in the top 15 nationally.
The 18 boys and girls will travel daily to games played in the towns of Cambridge, Matamata and Morrinsville.
Three Marlborough players have been nominated by their colleges for the New Zealand tournament team to play Australia at the end of August.
They have made the top eight selection and the team of five will be announced at prizegiving at the tournament.
Chas Craig is in contention for the year 11-13 team, Quinn Udy for the year 9-10 team and Kiriana Andrew for the year 9-10 team.
