Things did not get any better for Tasman on day three of the Toro Women's Interprovincial golf tournament yesterday as they lost their sixth straight tie at the Muriwai club in West Auckland.

Following two losses on Tuesday and a further two defeats on Wednesday, Tasman went down 0.5-4.5 to Hawke's Bay yesterday morning and suffered a 1-4 defeat at the hands of Otago in the afternoon.

Tasman's half point in the morning went to No 5 Jean Gibson, while Marlborough players Emily Stenhouse and Sue Murray were both beaten. Stenhouse went down 2/1 to Kate Chadwick in the No 1 spot and Murray suffered a 5/4 loss to Tessa McDonald at No 4. In the afternoon, Tasman No 2 Michele Reardon collected her side's lone point when she beat Abigael Crawford 4/2. Stenhouse lost 6/5 to Laura Hoskin, while Murray went down 5/4 to Sally Shaw.

The results mean Tasman are certain to finish seventh and last in division two, given that they have the bye in today's final round. Bay of Plenty led division two from Hawke's Bay, while defending champions Auckland had top spot ahead of North Harbour. The event ends tomorrow.
