Forsyth takes title

Ali Forsyth, from the Havelock Bowling Club, clinched the men’s singles title  at the New Zealand bowls championships in Dunedin on Saturday.

In an exciting decider New Zealand representative Forsyth produced an outstanding final bowl, running out the shot bowl of young Australian Sean Ingham (Broadbeach) to take the title 21-20. It is thought to be the first national singles title claimed by a member of a Marlborough club.

It was Forsyth’s third singles win and his sixth triumph at the nationals.

He won the pairs last year with Blenheim's Matt Gallop
