Drink a natural progression for Giesens
Giesen Wines has launched a blend of apple cider and pinot gris known as Pomme de Gris.
Giesen cellarman and brewer Dicky Fife, who crafted the new blend, said the lightly sparkling spritzer had a semi-sweet style.
"It's an excellent marriage between the two that works," he said. "The lychee and pear notes of the pinot gris are beautifully balanced by the crisp apple taste of the cider, creating a clean, dry wine with a residual sweetness."
Giesen Wines general manager Kyle Skene said the move into the new style was a natural progression for the company. "We're always keen to develop our portfolio. We're excited about the Pomme de Gris and believe it will be very well received over the summer."
The drink would be ideal for any occasion.
