Hot MX5: A hot model is planned before the current version goes into run-out.

Mazda is testing the market for an extra high-performance version of the MX-5 roadster, which could spawn a production offering as the car goes into its final year before an all-new model.
Called the MX-5 GT Concept, it made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England earlier this month, where it took part in the hillclimb.
The car takes inspiration from the MX-5 GT4 race car now competing in the British GT championship and is built by Jota Sport, with a 205kW 2.0-litre engine, uprated adjustable suspension and aerodynamic splitters and spoilers.
Recaro seats and carbon-fibre trim are added to the interior. Buyers will be able to option slick tyres and body-coloured roll hoops so they can ready the car for track use.
