A motorcyclist's terrifying crash into a deer that leaped on to the road has been captured on camera.
Biker Braden Childers collided with the animal while completing a two-day race through Silver Creek mountain, West Virginia, in the United States.
The footage, caught with his helmet camera, shows he crosses into the opposite lane to take a bend, when out of nowhere the deer comes running into sight.
Despite being knocked off his bike, Childers jumps back into his seat, determined to make it to the finish line.
Under his YouTube video, he explained the race course had been closed to the public and he did not condone crossing the yellow lines or speeding on open roads.
Childers said he hit the ground sliding when he crashed.
"I just kept rollin [sic] and hopped up."
When asked about the animal's welfare, he said: "I did glance back but the deer had already taken off into the woods."
Hundreds of YouTube viewers commented on Childers' crash video.
One said they had seen so many deer in the area, they "wondered if this would happen".
"As a guy who lives and rides in WV [West Virginia] I see too much of the damage these deer cause," another said.
