A dramatic police chase has ended in a farce after the fleeing motorcycle rider ran out of fuel and couldn't kick-start the bike back to life.
The man was riding a dirt bike on suburban streets in Sydney's Carramar when Fairfield police tried to stop him on August 2.
He led them on a short chase onto Horsley Drive, where his four-stroke bike stalled.
Footage shows the rider trying in vain to kick-start his bike before two police arrest him.
The incident was captured on a helmet camera, which shows the rider being manhandled to the ground and handcuffed while police tell him to stop resisting arrest.
They also tell the man they will seize his helmet-mounted camera for evidence.
Video from the event has been uploaded to the internet several times over the past four days. It is not clear whether it was leaked by police or the rider.
Police charged the man with resisting arrest and negligent driving as well as riding an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
